Getting nourished

Lunch

Lunches are available in Dipoli at very affordable prices (even students can afford to eat there). Lunches are also available at "TF" in the neighboring building and at Aalto University department cafeterias in the Otaniemi campus area. All the lunch restaurants offer a vegetarian option, and the following codes are given in the menus: VL = low lactose, L = lactose-free, G = gluten-free, M or "maidoton" = milk-free.

Here are links to the lunch menus in English:

Dipoli Buffet and the lunch restaurant at Otakaari 4: see today's menu in English under "Tänään" (=today) and "Teekkariravintolat"

TF (Teknologföreningen or "Täffä") lunch restaurant next to Dipoli

Restaurant Alvari in Aalto University's main building on Otaniemi campus, just across the street from Otakaari 4

Restaurant Servin Mökki ("Smökki") is about 300 m further to the northeast from Dipoli (see the map on their web page). For the lunch menu, click on Ma/Ti/Ke/To/Pe/La for Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat.

Dinner

Dipoli hosts a cozy pizza & beer pub called Cantina on the ground floor. Cantina is open from Monday to Saturday until midnight, the kitchen closes at 22:30.

All the hotels also provide dining with the sole exception of Töölö Towers (which is NOT a hotel):

Radisson Blu: Restaurant Ranta

Tapiola Garden: Restaurant Sevilla

Scandic Grand Marina: Restaurant

Hotel Presidentti: Restaurant Sevilla (how boring, seems to be a chain...)

And something special in Helsinki, Restaurant Olo... Recently, it was awarded a Michelin star. Comment by Taina: "Not being aware of that I went to eat there and I must say I have tasted heaven. It was also very affordable: a full menu for 49€."
